Angel Boy Art, Incorporated’s programs revolve around providing critical support to children with special needs and their families with emphasis on reaching economically disadvantaged children. Angel Boy Art is committed to bringing therapeutic art sessions to individual families in their homes and schools as well as groups of children in hospitals and respite facilities. Projects also focus on engaging the community in a way that allows for education about children with special needs while promoting the establishment of open communication regarding the issues children with special needs face.

Many children with special needs have difficulty communicating in the standard ways. Art is a universal language that everyone can understand. Kids with special needs flourish when they get involved in art for many reasons. First, it provides physical and occupational therapy that the child wants to do. Completing an art project gives a child with special needs a sense of accomplishment and it is wonderful to see how proud they are of their creations. Art helps children build confidence in themselves and their bodies by allowing them to make an impact on their environment in a meaningful way. The color choices alone are a way for the child to communicate, and as they gain experience, their art begins to tell stories they could not otherwise share for any number of reasons.

It is important for people in the community to see the beautiful masterpieces created by special young artists. There are many stigmas about children with handicaps that can be broken down through the beauty of art. Art allows people who are not sure how to approach a handicapped child a way in. By talking with the parents about the child's art, individuals can learn about the child's disability in a natural way. Art also lets people see how much is going on in the minds of children with special differences.
