Kaylie Hill
Our Kaylie Gracemarie was born 2.5 months early, weighing in at only 3lbs. After spending 7 weeks in the NICU, we were allowed to bring our little princess home. Kaylie was still on oxygen at home with her weak lungs from being born so early she was also on an apnea monitor. This however didn't last long. Soon she was off all her apparatus and being a cute cuddly baby. Doctors told us to expect some developmental delays, after her 1st birthday we received the diagnosis of Spastic CP Diplegia. This means she has very tight contracted muscles that don't allow her body to move in the usual way. She is most affected in the lower part of her body.

Kaylie has had some surgery to lessen the tight muscles, we continue to have LOTS and LOTS of therapy. Weekly Kaylie participates in 2 physical therapy visits, 2 gait training/physical therapy visits, and 1 visit to the occupational therapist, all while going to pre-school this year too! Seasonally she participates in riding Therapy horses and loves ALL animals, especially the baby ones.

Love of animals is second only to Kaylie's love of anything ART! It is the first thing she wants to do when she gets to school in the morning and any extra time she has, you will always see a pencil or crayon with her coloring books or her Tinkerbell notebook in tote with us. Some creations start from scratch and a few mom helps her get started on. Paint is also her very best way to "create", if it was up to Kaylie we would all paint everything we did.

Kaylie's artwork is to benefit a trip to Germany for Stem Cell Treatment. Please visit her website also at www.KayliesJourney.com
