Bailey Chavez
Bailey is a happy 3 year old boy who has a seizure disorder called Ohtahara Syndrome. Bailey's seizure disorder has prevented him from speaking, eating, or drinking by mouth, sitting up, or walking. Because of Bailey's limited mobility he is suceptible to respiratory illnessess, and has had more bouts of pneumonia than we can count. However; Bailey's issues have not prevented him from recognizing and knowing people in his family. Bailey's happiest times are spending time with his older sister, Tessa, and his little brother, Braden.
When Bailey was hospitilized in Denver with a sever case of pneumonia, we realized he is an artist. We had originally bought canvases to make hand and foot prints and Bailey begun moving his hands across the canvas. Bailey's paintings are breathtaking. Although they are abstract, you can see Bailey's emotions within each of his paintings and various animals.
Bailey has renewed our family with a sense of hope and we have been blessed to experience what miracles are through Bailey. As people look at his artwork I hope they can feel what we feel through his paintings.
