Anthony DiSalvo is a wonderful 14 year old boy who loves to paint. Although he has cerebral palsey that has affected every part of his body, he manages to hold a paintbrush and express himself with colors. Painting is Anthony’s passion. He chooses his own colors and mixes them together. He seems to have an idea of what he wants before he begins. Anthony’s twin brother Jacob, sister Samantha and brothers Joey and Billy are always amazed at Anthony’s ability to create such beautiful paintings.
Anthony’s body does not cooperate with what his mind is telling it to do. Due to the cerebral palsey (which affects Anthony’s ability to move on his own), when Anthony tries to do something his muscles overreact by tightening up. This makes it extremely hard for Anthony to do anything independently. Anthony tries so hard to overcome this tightness – he is truly amazing! He drives a motor-chair with head controls and communicates with a special communication device that uses a tiny sticker placed on his forehead.
